How to style your iso loungewear in the real world

After being in isolation for the last six months, I haven’t ventured very far from my track pants and leggings, however with the return to the real world soon approaching, I’m not willing to swap my comfy loungewear for my pre-COVID wardrobe. I’m free from restricting, too-tight, “beauty is pain” clothing and I’m never going back. After being wrapped in LÉ BUNS’ Organic Cotton and the softest Bamboo fabrics, can you blame me? How do I look like I haven’t just rolled out of bed and into the office?

Finding the middle ground between form and function within every outfit is the key to creating super comfy, sophisticated looks. We’ll show you how to style all your loungewear you bought during isolation with some simple, classic style inspo.

OVERSIZED EVERYTHING

Styling a whole baggy look is the biggest challenge from the sheets to the streets. Combining oversized upper body and loose pants with a super chic slicked back hairstyle and accessorising with some minimal jewellery elevates the look from “been in isolation and forgot where my hairbrush is” to a super chic fit. Style your hair in a super slicked bun, add a fierce winged liner (which you’ve had plenty of time to master in iso, of course!), your fave gold hoop earrings and a matching necklace. Finish the look with a faux-leather shoulder bag to add some texture to the outfit.

___OPPOSITES ATTRACT

Styling your loungewear into your everyday wardrobe is a great way to play with proportions while making your loungewear versatile. An oversized tee tucked into jeans or loose trousers styled with a crop, are casual combinations perfect for everyday wear. Add a blazer and heels to dress up the look outfit, or go for sneakers & a cropped denim jacket for casual days.

LAYER UP

Layering garments is an easy way to make an outfit look more put together and allows you to play with silhouettes. Start with the outfit from above, a simple tee tucked into jeans, then add some layers on top. Chuck on an unbuttoned shirt, layer a fitted turtle neck underneath, or simply a tee under a sweater with the crew neck showing. Using wardrobe basics in neutral tones to add layers gives an effortlessly chic dimension to your look, and is also a super practical cold-weather styling hack!

SUMMER BREEZE

Australian summer is fast approaching and I’m not planning on having a Ross from Friends leather pant moment, so being comfy is vital. Incorporating matching sets and colour blocking with loungewear creates a timeless, effortless style. Premium Linen fabrication makes for a breathable summer look that will take you anywhere from bed, to the beach, to brunch. I’d style the LÉ BUNS Willow Linen Shirt and Fleur Drawstring Shorts for a cute matching look. Tuck in the front of the shirt to add some definition to the outfit, add some cute sandals, sunglasses and a cute net bag, and you’re good to go.
