NAME + OCCUPATION
I'm Sara Grace and I am a Low Tox home educator (social worker in my previous day job!)
Leo the lion all the way!
HOW ARE YOU SPENDING YOUR TIME IN ISOLATION?
Running around after my two kiddos ( 2+4 yrs old) , cooking food ( good food is my love language and I just got a thermo mix which I am slightly obsessed with), getting out for walks where we can and of course - educating on low toxic living in my community!
TOP 3 MOVIES/SHOWS TO WATCH CUDDLED UP IN BED
This is a bad one to ask me because (embarrassingly) I don't think I have watched a movie in years? Like a really really long time! If I ever have a spare second (which is rare between a husband who works huge hours, a small business and of course the kiddo's) my head is in a book - or watching a quick comedy on Netflix!
WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL MOST CONFIDENT?
I feel most confident when I am eating well and moving my body, nourishing my family with good food and when I am learning and seeking new information to empower me in my home. I feel so lit up as a mother, partner and women when I am learning from others, teaching and being part of kind and accepting communities where people are changing up their lives!
TEA / COFFEE
I just cannot survive with out coffee, ask my husband!
BOOK / MOVIE
well that has to be books, I love reading and educating myself!
HIGH WAISTED / LOW RISE
since becoming a mamma it's like I automatically switched to liking high waisted? Wonder if that's just me!
daisy girl through and through!
SEASIDE / COUNTRYSIDE
Live by the seaside, but love to holiday in the countryside.
SPRING / AUTUMN
oh the fresh flowers of spring get me every time - plus the nights start to warm up in spring and dinner by the beach can happen more often with my family which is one of my favourite things ever!
MUSIC / PODCAST
love music, it can turn your whole day around!
SWEET / SAVOURY
savoury all the way, give me allllllll the breads and antipasto plates please!
WHAT’S SOMETHING YOU’VE LEARNED FROM MOTHERHOOD -
Don't sweat the small stuff; "am I holding them too much?" "he's two now - the book says he should move to a cot?"
"whats the right age to drop the dummy?".
Nothing matters more than the happiness of you and your baby, and when we lean into our intuition as parents and trust ourselves (not everyone else who will undoubtedly have an opinion on what you are doing) we parent at our best.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY WITH SUSTAINABILITY
When I was pregnant with my first baby, I really started to look into what was going into my body - not just my food but products that went on to my skin (therefore to my baby). Safe to say, after a little big of digging, I was pretty appalled at what was in my home and what I thought "was safe" - really wasn' when I understood the ingredients.
I found myself going on an imperfect journey of organic food, swapping out my household products to cleaner versions and diving into consumer laws and legislations around our products. What was surprising to me - was that as I was making "healthier product choices for my home and family" I started to make more sustainable choices environmentally also - the two do often (not always) but often go hand in hand.
As I shared the journey, I found a true passion for educating (especially mamma's - because lets face it we do a-lot of the product buying) on ingredients, simple swaps and skills to empower us to make our homes safer for our families - it's been a fun journey that I am absolutely loving
